GE HealthCare Rolls Out Invenia ABUS Ultrasound, AI-Powered Enterprise Viewer

GE HealthCare has launched Invenia ABUS (automated breast ultrasound) Prime and ABUS StreamVue, a recently U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-cleared and CE-marked enterprise viewer.

The new technologies support supplemental screening for women with dense breasts and offer more flexible, enterprise-wide review of exams, according to the company. GE HealthCare hopes the devices will help breast imaging programs standardize 3D ultrasound acquisition, support remote reading, and simplify deployment for multi-site networks.

The Invenia ABUS Prime ultrasound’s cSound Imageformer includes AI-enabled tools like Scan Quality Assessment and Auto Nipple Detection, which are powered by the company’s Verisound AI. A Fast Scan tool can speed scan speed up to 40%, the company claims.

A new-generation Reverse Curve transducer and selectable compression levels aim to make patients more comfortable and create a more personalized experience. AI-supported reading from QVCAD also streamlines review, GE HealthCare said, reducing reading time by 33% and boasting lesion detection sensitivity of up to 93%.

ABUS StreamVue is a zero-footprint, browser-based reading solution designed to standardize ABUS exam review with remote access and flexible licensing. Candelis is collaborating with GE HealthCare to combine the technology with Invenia ABUS and Invenia ABUS Prime, supporting faster reads, remote access, cross-site comparisons and simplified enterprise ultrasound management.
